The image of a tear appears again and again in the artist's work, gradually becoming an independent image with a strong symbolic meaning. In A Drop this motif reaches its limit: the tear becomes a large-scale object, both fragile and heavy.
The drop is made of large metallic beads that reflect light like hundreds of tiny mirrors. Their shimmer turns the surface into something resembling a cluster of stars, connecting the intimate image of a tear with the image of the universe.
The tear becomes a physical form of an unbearable weight — a way of crying without tears. The frozen drop seems to continue flowing, becoming an image of a feeling that cannot stop. Here a personal experience takes on a cosmic scale: the drop becomes a universe of its own, an attempt to give material form to something that cannot be expressed or held.
